This is Mocoro!

introduction

Mocoro is a small interactive studio founded in January 2007 by Eduard Prats Molner and Hugo Ahlberg in Berlin, Germany. They met in 2004 at Fork Unstable Media Berlin where they worked with the international Adidas Tennis web site. Years later, after some freelance work, both realised that they were tired of the way most Internet agencies work, and thus Mocoro was created!

Mocoro combines all disciplines to concept, design and develop interactive applications in a unique process, erasing all borders between design and technology. Furthermore, Mocoro believes that by merging designers and developers in all project phases is the only way to create compact, innovative and user-friendly experiences through robust applications that are easy to update. Mocoro's activity is currently 100% Internet based, but are working to bring some of their interactive ideas into other forms such as installations.

Some Mocoro Projects

Mocoro has released 3 in-house projects during the first 5 months, and has some other nice web projects coming out very soon.

Cicatriz Clothing is the most recent project by Mocoro. A fully integrated web shop built in Flash, featuring  a lo-fi video interface showcasing the latest collection from Cicatriz. A Mac-friendly mouse wheel feature enhances user's experience by letting them select products on the main interface in a video scrubbing style.

The Cicatriz Clothing Web Shop has received three notable awards so far:

The FWA - Site of the day, 1st of June 2007
Website Design Awards - Site of the Week
Dope Awards - original sites

Kockum Communication features a typographic interface with a deep-linking structure and browser history support for all modern browsers. The typography is rendered using advanced anti-alias options, and the text animations and transitions help to increase user's experience through the site navigation.

AAA Arquitectura i Disseny is a temporary showcase for an architecture studio in Barcelona. Their website has a default auto-navigation feature that let the user have a look to the whole Website's content without having to necessarily interact with it.

Mocoro has recently launched its temporary splash page as well; a little showcase with a TV styled interface.

Who we are

Hugo is a screen designer who studied at Hyper Island (Crew 9),  a new media design school in Sweden. His passion for video games made him pay attention to interactivity and graphic design at an early age. However he tried a career as a Linux/Windows NT system administrator but realised his mistake and switched to interface design.

Hugo has an advanced technical knowledge that let him create and design concepts precisely and naturally for the interactive medium. His site
www.melanchology.com showcases some of Hugo's recent work.

Eduard is an engineer focused on information design and interactive applications development. With a feel for motion and graphic design, Eduard enjoys spending time scripting up to the smallest detail on any interactive application.

At the age of 13, Eduard wrote his first little program on an
Amstrad CPC 464 and he unconsciously began to understand the beauty of computer scripted graphics when drawing lines and circles by using a set of very simple code instructions on a Spectrum Sinclair.

Eduard has been working as a freelance developer since 1999 in Barcelona and Berlin, and has collaborated in several projects with remarkable advertisement and internet agencies such as Mccann Ericsson, Interactive Bureau, Vasava Artworks, Xnografics, Fork Unstable Media and Die Argonauten. His Website
www.jocabola.com showcases his most recent activity.
